Tim Ho Wan, one of the world's cheapest Michelin-starred restaurants, will open in Singapore in mid-March this year.

Tim Ho Wan Singapore will be located at Plaza Singapura, in its new atrium wing. This is the first overseas outpost for the Hong Kong-based dim sum chain whose Mongkok and Sham Shui Po outlets hold one Michelin star each.

Chef-owner Mak Kwai Pui, 50, has a total of four outlets in Hong Kong. According to The Business Times, he hopes to open the same number of outlets here in the next two years.

The first Tim Ho Wan Singapore will be a 100-seat restaurant located across from Starbucks Coffee at the ground floor of Plaza Singapura. Chef Mak is expected to visit every three to four months to maintain standards.

The Business Times also reports that Tim Ho Wan Singapore's kitchen will be led by a Singaporean dim sum chef formely from Wan Hao Chinese Restaurantat Marriott Hotel.

Tasty, authentic Mongkok dim dum?

You can get that for cheap at Chinatown Complex.

Michelin write restaurant reviews and can award between 1 and 3 stars.
Singapore has none at the moment.

Good. Shows that local restaurant owners smart enough to Boh heow the stupid ang moh food rating agency. Never appreciate the Michelin star nonsense, over hyped, over rated. Good food sometimes is also up to individual taste and preference.
