It is difficult to understand why there are continuing problems with the rails, and the MRT system.

Although the Toronto Transit Commission (`TTC`) and its subway, buses and streetcars are not as new as the SMRT, and not as good as the SMRT, in the 3 decades I have been here, I have never heard of the TTC having such a problem, notwithstanding the extreme temperatures of minus 25C in the winter, and 35C in the summer.

for other cuntries:
in uk: the tube and the rail network in general is shit when its winter, otherwise it works beautifully
in france: the metro looks like shit, graffiti and all, but it works brilliantly in paris.
in other eu cuntries (even italy): the metro works beautifully, it might not look clean and the language might be foreign to us, but it works for not much more or less than what we pay at mrt

It is reality ....the current population is beyond 5.3 million. It is creeping up so fast. Surely, you don't believe all the crap that the PAP tells you. They said that the infrastructure was able to support the current population. And?

A large population is good for the economy and the infrastructure is coping very well. It has faced tough tests and has passed with flying colours.

There may be the odd breakdown but that's part and parcel of life. Nothing is 100% and I'll have to say that Singapore MRT is far more reliable than anything Auckland has and the whole of NZ only has 4.5 million inhabitants.

You should be thankful for what the PAP has done for the country in such a short period of time. From a fishing village to 1st world infrastructure in less than 50 years is indeed a remarkable achievement.

I don't know much about Auckland but in Spore the MRT sytem is critical for us "lesser mortals". For many living in NZ they can always chose to get a car but in Spore the PAP has made it prohibitively expensive to own one.
