Ah Lim should have been shown to the doors had not the elderly votes.

Heard from the ground EC-GRC got a very huge number of elderly votes, so you see why the PAP was lucky this time!

Next GE, PAP wont be so lucky anymore because the old ones would up the lorry and young voters will appear !

Most voters in EC think WP would have taken EC !

What a waste
!

Next round of gerrymandering will see Pasir Ris as part of East Coast to dilute the numbers.

FTs are moving in to the landed property estates too. Mainly, from malaysia and india.

The elderly who are used to the lightning logo voted for the FAP. Those in their 40s who still hold down a job and have benefitted from the property value rise voted for the FAP. The youths (35 and below) voted staunchly for change and they are a rapidly growing force. But they will be easily drowned out if the FAP continues to flood the island with grateful foreigners.

There might be a West Coast Pasir Ris GRC, a Ubin Kallang GRC and a Potong Pasir Tanjong Pagar GRC.

What does FAP mean literally?

I am in East Coast GRC. How they know the elderly voted pap? Isn't our vote secret?

Also, I get a damn bad feeling the stretch of area nearest Pasir Ris will be dropped into Pasir Ris-Ponggol GRC. If that happens, it would be another sad day.

I am in East Coast GRC too and 4 months after general election I dun see WP people working the ground here. Are they serious in winning East Coast in next GE

Don't be too hopeful. The elderly have been blamed for every election i have followed since the 80s. Optimistic opposition supporters always say 'next time will be different, when the elderly up the lorry!'. When election comes and PAP wins 60%++ as always they will come up with this line to console themselves again.

I believe things are getting better and common Singaporeans are improving. I remember 5 years back then during GE 2006, PAP is trying to win back Potong Pasir & Hougang by getting Woody there to help out and there is talks that when if Chiam & Low leave their respective SMC ...PAP will win back. In 2006, nobody predicted 5 years later PAP will lose a GRC.

This year GE 2011, things did changed drastically. PM apologized and PAP adopted try-not-to-lose-more strategy by increasing 84 seats to 87 seats and also increase the NCMP seats from 3 to 9.

What will happen 5 years later  .... it is difficult to predict too :p

We just got to wait and see. After all, priority is in the newly won Adjunied. Anyhow we got the new guy as the NMP, let's see how they capitalise on this to benefit those in the East Coast.

if PAP depends on elderly to vote for them......................then it's GREAT NEWS..................!!!!

in 2016, there'll be many many less elderly liao mah......................

importantly...................the youngsters must hate PAP........................that's the key !

I hope this is not true, but if its really the case that the Elderly vote for PAP out of fear, than these elderly are really a waste of space. They are not long to meet their maker and they are still afraid? Man they are selfish. If these Elderly vote for PAP because they did well under PAP than that is democracy. And i respect their decision. But these just proofs many singaporeans are daft
