Worker crushed to death by concrete slabs
Mr Yeo Song Hock, 54, (above) was pronounced dead at the scene and police are investigating the incident.
A WORKER died on Monday after a pile of concrete blocks fell on him at a construction site.
Police said they were alerted just before noon to the incident, which occurred at a site at the junction of Hougang Avenue 2 and Yio Chu Kang Road.
It is understood that another worker had called for help after he spotted an arm sticking out from under a pile of concrete slabs which had fallen off a piling machine.
Mr Yeo Song Hock, 54, (above) was pronounced dead at the scene and police are investigating the incident.
Shin Min Daily News reported that the Malaysian had been standing next to the piling machine when the five blocks, each weighing 4.5 tonnes, slipped off the machine and crushed him.
It is unclear how the incident happened.
