It's easy to appeal to emotion and demand that Singapore stays the way that it for the long term but had the British adopted the same attitude and not brought in large numbers from China and India a couple of centuries ago, Singapore would still be the paradise that the Malays enjoyed before boat loads of Chinese and Indians arrived.

That's politics. The Opposition has finally learned how to do politics the PAP way. LKY cries. LHL cries. So, why not the opposition? The message is still there and it is a message reflective of the people's feeling about the whole PAP white paper crap.
50 years of tasting the PAP's rule is long enough. While they were successful in the initial years, the last decade or so, they have shown themselves as serving themselves first and put the interests of aliens ahead of sinkees.

Its the Govt who are paid to provide answers, provide alternatives,etc. They gave a single simplistic solution, an ultimatum and no alternatives. None of the speakers draw A penny from a GLC, PA or any state state bodis.
