SINGAPORE: Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Wong Hong Kuan will be appointed as Chief Executive of the Singapore Workforce Development Agency with effect from June 1, 2011.

Mr Wong, will succeed Mr Chan Heng Kee who will be taking up another public sector appointment from April 1.

Mr Goh Eng Ghee, currently WDA's Deputy CE, will be appointed Acting CE of WDA from April 1 to May 31, before Mr Wong's appointment comes into effect.

WDA says Mr Chan was appointed CE of WDA in December 2008.

Under his leadership, WDA made a major impact in helping companies and workers tackle the economic downturn through the Skills Programme for Upgrading and Resilience (SPUR).
