Expats' recession blues
By Debbie Yong

IT WAS meant to be a holiday to see his elder sister but in the one week that Mr Filip Maes spent in Singapore last April, he managed to secure two job offers - and from top-notch global asset management firms too.

Ecstatic, the Belgian returned to New York, where he was working in hedge fund portfolio financing, turned in his resignation and packed his bags for Asia.

Shortly after he arrived in Singapore last August, however, he received a phone call from his prospective employer telling him that his services were no longer needed - even before his work contract had been signed.

Read the full report in The Sunday Times.

Tell this Ang Moh not to worry. My son will take care of it! *hee*hee*

Reason one : Revenge for us unto Ang Mo for screwing the whole world over !

Reson two : Get them over here first make them commit unto our assets and then cut the string to the kite !

ouch
they believe the hype, pap generate about singapore not affected by sub prime.

Unless you are a born and bred S'porean with a higher level of IQ, many FTs are suckers for stories they read, see,and hear from our 154th.

Serves them right. I hope they pass the word around that true S'poreans do not welcome FTs.

Ahem...from top notched assets management firms? I believe he got done in by a AH NEI.

Normally these firms are top notched until they hire AH Neis

FTs ...Fuck Off!

BTW, wait for Part2 of this report from our 154th. 1-2 weeks or months they will do another report saying that this FT has stayed on, how impressed he was with S'pore blah blah... and took on a lesser paying job etc etc. and how the people of S'pore (probably Garment) has helped him in his hours of need.

But when S'poreans go to garment for help, u get riddiculed and looked down on.

S'poreans must come together to demand for more transparency from our self pro-claimed 1st world govt, Only then can we judged its performances more accurately.
