WOMAN GLUED TO PHONE WHILE CROSSING ROAD, NEARLY CAUSED ACCIDENT

A woman narrowly avoided a car accident while crossing Tan Quee Lan Street in Bugis after walking out from behind a FedEx van while looking at her phone, according to a video uploaded to SG Road Vigilante on Feb 24. Dashcam footage showed the driver slamming the brakes and 202 sounding his horn as the woman briefly lowered her phone before continuing to cross the road. Netizens also expressed displeasure over her disregard for safety following the incident.

There are many handphone zombies all over S'pore. I encountered 2 already this week. I was required to jam on the brakes on both occasions near City Square Mall and Beatty Road. Both involved Indians glued to their phones while crossing the road.
