A 32-YEAR-OLD woman has died after she was stabbed at a basketball court in Woodlands Drive on Wednesday night.
Ms Hoe Hong Lin, a permanent resident (PR) from Malaysia, was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics found her at Blk 895C Woodlands Drive 50, following a call to the police at around 10.55pm.
According to family members, she had been in a heated argument with her husband's co-worker at a neighbourhood Mid-Autumn celebration held earlier in the evening, the Shin Min Daily News reported.
After the party, Ms Hoe walked home her nephew who was staying at a nearby block, and on her way back, was stabbed by an unidentified assailant.
An eyewitness is quoted in Shin Min as saying that she was lying at the basketball court covered in blood, with what looked like a knife plunged into her chest.
A police statement issued this afternoon said the victim had sustained injuries to her upper body. They are classifying the case as murder and investigations are ongoing.
Ms Hoe leaves behind her husband and two children, a boy aged 10 and a daughter, 6.
Anyone with information on the case is requested to call the Police hotline at 1800-255-0000
