Woman charged with multiple counts of maid abuse

A woman claimed trial on Thursday to multiple charges of abusing her maid over a three-month period.
Part-time tutor Low Gek Hong, 35, faces a total of 18 charges - 15 for maid abuse and one each of using criminal force, criminal intimidation and insulting the modesty of the Myanmar maid.
The alleged offences took place at her Tampines flat between December last year and February this year.
She is alleged to have broken the maid's left little finger and poured a hot mug of hot water on her back in February.
