A WOMAN whose five-year-old nephew was found dead in a flat on Sunday was charged yesterday with mistreating his elder brother.
The 47-year-old dishwasher is accused of tying the seven-year-old boy's hands to a metal beam attached to a kitchen wall, using a piece of cloth.
She is also said to have tied his legs to a PVC pipe attached to the kitchen sink with another piece of cloth.
Both brothers were under her care when the alleged offence took place at the two-room flat in Choa Chu Kang between last Friday and Sunday.
The accused had returned home in the early hours of Sunday morning and found the five-year-old lying motionless on a mattress in the living room.
She was arrested later that day.
