An 81-year-old woman signed up for a trial at a seniors' fitness class hoping it will help her stay active, but took a fall during a warm-up exercise and is now bedridden after sustaining a spinal fracture. According to her son, one exercise she was made to perform involved "skipping" to one side, which he felt was risky. It was taking part in this exercise where his mother fell and suffered an injury.

There seems to have been a total lack of any empathy from the physio conducting that lesson. It was during this 2nd exercise that the senior fell down. According to her son, the physio walked over, then left to continue the class, leaving his mom lying on the floor with her son beside her. Another lady remained with his mom soon after that. According to the son, the class continued when he summoned an ambulance.

This is a business. You cannot expect the typical business owner or operator to exhibit an ounce of even faked empathy / sympathy. During my NSF time, this was decades ago. An old man with asthma died in open view at the old Bedok Bus Interchange. A tracheotomy with a ball point pen tube may have saved his life since there's no foreign body obstruction. When we arrived, his face blue as the sky with foam in his mouth. We pronounced him dead after ecg. Welcome to Singapore.

with high rental and business costs...............i say the physio is an excellent employee................very focused on helping boss stay profitable.............

Investigations showed there was no skipping involved. Seems like the son is lying and trying to blame the organization.

It is just a misadventure.

My son once struck the back of a Toyota Vios, causing a few scratches. The woman in the other car said it was a minor incident and they exchanged particulars. Unfortunately, her husband saw an opportunity to fleece me, and claimed his car was in the workshop for 10 days and rented a replacement car for the duration. It appears that this elderly woman's son is also a similar opportunist.

The physio's nonchalance would cause seniors to avoid the exercise programs offered by this vendor in future. I would hesitate to allow my elderly parents to register for a program where their welfare/safety is not given much priority.

doing such elderlys' businesses very high risks .... wonder if they have sufficient insurance coverage .... the family confirm all out to make big bites out of the towkay .... huat ah! :whistling:

My elderly parents attend a low impact workout program at a private service provider, where there has never been an incident like this, simply because the physios/trainers are mindful of what is safe and unsafe.

agree agree ... what you refer is "Incidents" ... what moi refer is "Accidents" .... 2 different happenings :whistling:

This is what happens when the PAP regime has been gaslighting the population about ageing.

You get various euphemisms related to ageing: silver generation, active ageing etc.

Eventually, some of them end up really believing the bullshit that they are invincible, they must 'live their live to the fullest', age is just a number, and so on. Those PAP grassroots vermins truly know how to push the buttons of this particular demographic, pandering to them for very obvious reasons.

This past Saturday, at the Suntec atrium, there was a roadshow by the Singapore HOSPICE Council; Chen Jianbin and other local showbiz lowlifes were on stage entertaining a bunch of old farts seated on chairs.

I may meet a pretty woman like Ling Ling Kwong at the exercise
class by accident, which would be a memorable incident.

These seniors miss the interaction at their workplace before they retired.
