Let's face the facts that fairness is just a romantic idea for human being . The world will never be fair that's the reason why religion can survived until now giving the false impression that the world is fair and keep people in line and to make them feel good about themselves if justice did not served for them . Who or what determines a person's next life?

What are the criteria set?

If a person dies and is reincarnated as an insect e.g cockroach, how is it able to obtain good karma and reborn into a better life as a person?

Generally, you have to used up your good karma ( if born in heaven) or bad karma if born in the lower realm, then you have the chance to be a human being.. human being is like the balance of your karmic points.

but how to get out from the lower realm, then i am not at that level.. what i learn that, to be reborn as a human being, the virtue of good conduct has to be there of the person.. But this is just a general view of it.

If a being is born as a lion.. the lion has to kill to eat and it has incurred the killing karma.. so does that mean it can't get out from the animal realm.. how to get rid of the killing instinct of the lion.. Maybe it should turn vegetarian.

No amount of good deeds can make up for bad deeds. That's a fact. Go ask convicts and the difficulties faced by the Yellow Ribbon project. It is the same for office politics and non-criminal type of grudges.

People, including Buddhists, automatically brings up a person's past when discussing about the person. Whatever single bad deed or controversial past they had stays forever.

Ah Gong is a good example. He lifted millions of sinkies out of poverty and improved Singapore. But to many of his detractors, all of these do not matter. They are forever harping upon his WW2 behaviour or Operation Coldstore.

As far as they are concerned, they will never let a bad deed be forgotten or erased with good deeds.

I am Wunderfool ( pronounced as wonderful )... My religion is very different from Tuayapeh.

Buddhism monasteries around the world cannot support themselves, and require donations from the (working) community around them. Traditionally, laypeople would (they believed) improve their karma or " points " by giving to monasteries. This system is very similar to Christianity , and has the same problem . It is merely a form of unsustainable vampirism whereby non-producers and world-rejectionists are encouraged in their mystical beliefs, by guilty laypeople who want to feel good about themselves when they give donations . In reality, it is the non-producers who should feel guilty !!!!
