Last night, i spoke to someone over drinks, who probably the lawyer who handled the most property transactions in Singapore.

H: Should I choose freehold or leasehold? Rental yields are so poor for freehold properties.

C: For 99-years leasehold, the day will come. You gotta assume full depreciation and don't expect government to bail you out. They are selling 25years, 30 years leasehold industrial lands now, so the next thing, will be 60-years leasehold properties for residential.

For 999 years, the day will still come because many started their lease in 1800s.
For freehold, the day will never come. You will beat inflation.

Freehold is a dream only apply to UK.

Back in those years of drug traafickibg in China those Pommiese dared to risk their life in drug trade for the Queen V will get freehold lands and rewards if come back alive.

Get it?

有人因为流浪到渡口 Some drifted here
有人因为思念靠不到岸 Some just couldn't let go
有人不能忘情于繁华中 Some can't forget the world of mortals
有人日复一日赶著同样的梦 Some are still clinging on to the same dream

Life is a mess, how did you end up like this?
I had options, but I didn't have a choice - Lu Geok Lan
