The electronic billboard on Orchard Building has been showing a blue error screen since about 9am this morning (Jan 28), says STOMPer office lady.

The error screen is commonly known as the "blue screen of death" by Windows operating system users.

The STOMPer wrote:

"My office is at Heeren and when I look out the window, I can see Orchard Building with the huge TV screen.

"The screen has been showing the blue screen for the past hour. Is the person-in-charge still sleeping?"

The STOMPer said that it was still showing the error screen at 11.30am.

"Maybe it's time to switch from Windows to Mac," STOMPer office lady quipped

Windows will still win the war, not because they are good, but because of its mass-marketing and cheaper prices.

You're out of date. The battle of OSs has moved on to the mobile device.

iOS Becomes Good Technology’s Most Popular Mobile Platform

January 27th, 2011

According to The Associated Press, a report was recently published by the Good Technology which declared that iOS is the companies most popular mobile platform. It reportedly read: “Since RIM devices use only the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for corporate email access, Good does not have insight into BlackBerry handset activation trends and they are not reflected in this report.”
Moreover, in the report, the company asserted that Apple’s iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, and iPad are for the top four latest device activations of last year, chased by the Android-based Motorola’s Droid X and Droid 2 and HTC Droid Incredible, and the Windows Mobile using HTC Cedar, Samsung 1637 and BlackJack 2.
Additionally, Good also signified that it supports more than 30 Android device models and above 100 mobile devices incorporating Windows Mobile. Good Technology says: “More than 40 percent of Good’s customers support both iOS and Android devices, and nearly 20 percent support devices on three or more mobile platforms.” The report added: “Interestingly [the company observed] 70 percent of these iPad users have not activated any other devices with Good, while 30 percent have activated both an iPad and least one other iOS or Android device.”

I am not the least bit interested in smartphones, since I will just take any $0 phone that telecom offers. Although, I do know that iPhone of all versions is very hot here. For now, Windows is still new to the mobile market. It is only a matter of time when Windows undercut its own prices and make it much cheaper than Apple iPhones.

Tide of fortune might move from Mac to Android + Windows Mobile.
