Joseph Isaac Schooling, Age 26.
He was the gold medalist in the 100m butterfly at the 2016 Olympiad, achieving the first Singapore's Olympic gold medal.

Just another funded biz by venture capitalist.

He had go to serve the country first. Duty of the nation come first.

Startup does not serve the country but enrich the investors.

Technology evolved, an engineer created a new features and showed to another engineer. The engineer will come back to him (creator) and say he can do better.

Look under the hood of technology u find that without manufacturer improved on the previous batch of technology there will be no new tech.

Startup biz depends on just that. Every few years new features are added onto the manufacturer motherboard, PCB.

Look at coding industry. There is a group of developers creating machine codes under the hood.

In JavaScript coding, ES7 now, the group of machine code developers creates new machine codes every few years and release to the coding industry.

If u pick up the trend u can develop a new startup biz seek funding from venture capitalist.

So that ahneh shd go do NSF, period.

In FackBook startup biz, MicroSoft created the httpRequest machine codes for own use in email. Just need to upload yr email texts once to the server.

Then this miracle pills were stolen by hackers like FaceBook coder Mark Z. Too many to sue so MS released it for free and social media apps boom.

by getting sg’s 1st gold medal (and ever) in the olamparpics, schooling should already have fulfilled his ns obligations far more than any sinkie ns man. exceptions can be and should be made by a super majority in lamparleement.

It is a privilege to serve NS in Singapore.

In countries like Canada it is quite hard to get into the military. Many fail the tests and canno qualify to become a soldier and are thrown out.

Singapore practically ensures every male Singaporean and PR to become a soldier.

Very very fortunate.

Was told they produced Boy's Scouts these days in NS.

Wow, our N.S. produced paper generals . Pride of PAP!

As very high level Sportsman, Schooling should make stance, come fwd, tell mindef etc, that, given 1 Yr NS, he will ensure all NS men are swimmable..
My opinion only.

Yah lah... He had enlist to be swim coach for life serving the country...

why should he ever return to sinkieland? Would you? Are people this dumb?

Why worry about 1 SG boy when there are so many SG girls that evaded NS.....

There are many high quality soldiers in the SAF.

One example is someone I respect very much. Former armour officer @Papsmearer
I am Leetired Armour Officer lah, not former. I am already too old to be called up for reservist. Former means I have been kicked out of Armour formation for some reason. Once Armour, always armour lah.
