No music, and no alcohol. Life is not worth living.

Indeed. Musical instruments can be used as deadly weapons in a spontaneous riot.

What a brilliant idea from Tuck Yew.

Are musical instruments also banned for Chinese medium rituals?

The banning of musical instruments was implemented some time back already for thaipusam. Not so for Chinese sintua practices cos Chinese aren't violent animals unlike shit skins. Now lets read Facebook comments complaining of "racism" as usual. If you see any such topics of shit skins ignoring their fucked up behavior and complaining that the rules are "racist" post it here.

Thaipusam is for south Indians only...my north indian friends dun even know what it is :D

All gods and religion must abide by Singapore laws, we are more than heavenly. Chinese spiritual mediums must apply for permit if not the monkey gods, guanyins, guan gong all cannot carry on their procession. Also, noise control applies to temples - most must end rituals by 10pm especially the ones which are situated in densely populated areas. U complain to the deities also no use.

They are preparing for the eventuality that if a riot happens, then they will blame it on musical instruments this time round.
