ElderLEE has stepped down from PAP CEC along with 5 other senior CEC members. Similar to any organisations, there are different cliques with personal self interests.

Will there be under-table vote buying, back stabbings and internal struggles among each other to get a seat in the CEC because this time, the perceived power holders - ElderLee and Woody both stepped down.

A friend who works in a statutory board also told me Ng Eng Hen may be the next DPM, simply because of the seating arrangement when he is seen with other key Ministers.

There've always been power struggles within organizations or strong views but with an agreement to provide a united front when a decision is made. We can go back to the days of Ong Pang Boon and Chan Choy Siong to Lim Chin Siong to Toh Chin Chye to Goh Chok Tong to Jek Yuen Thong to know of such disagreements and squabbles.

Personal self-interests don't go far except in autocratic one person rules such as Libya or Indonesia.
