was at old airport road hawker centre. many things had changed. many good old stalls had closed, changed owners or even taken over by their scions.

while wandering and looking around, a whiff of aroma was detected. it was mutton soup. chinese herbal mutton soup! this brought back memory of mutton prick that particular stall was notoriously famous for. it used to sell those prick at $3 each.

as i followed the scent which led to a secluded stall. however, pricks were missing. the stall no longer sold mutton prick.

i still patronise the husband and wife team...the mutton soup is too dilute....meat okay lah. herbs not too generous now. i feel everything is going down the standard. even the famous fried hokkien mee is so so only....

good mutton soup is very hard to come by nowadays...anyway, it's better to consume less for those with gout and high cholesterol....good morning everyone!!! have a wonderful weekend ok? no zapping please:)

got really good one but r u willing to pay higher? in chinatown hc, there is one stall that individually brewed in claypot mutton soup. but price begins at $6 of a small helping with 2 good size mutton ribs.

The famous LOR MEE stall is always closed, ask the neighboring stalls, not so keen to tell me why & find out from one, some distance away, "they make more than enough, so they open, when they like"!!

The quality of food at this food center is going down the drain...and if one notices, there are just too many "tau huay" stalls!!...

ya, u r right now that u mention tau huay stalls. it's like last time where bubble-tea shops popped up one after another very rapidly. then suddenly the bubble burst!

we still get honest to goodness tau huay at about $1 a bowl or soyabean drink at between 60 to 80c. but for a tau huay to cost like $1.50 and more, it's quite ridiculous!

no wonder there's one very popular taiwanese tau huay along geylang rd is going bust soon.
