Why WP prefers to kill PAP slowly and with love...almost

Actually, I look forward to LKY trying to call in the army, or even the Gurkhas, because I have an idea what would follow. I don't claim the be prescient, just an avid follower of history.

with more than 80 seats in parliament under pappies, what can any opposition do now?

If you bare your fangs and show that you want to take more from the current ruling party, you will probably incur a steadfast and steady stream of barrages and "attacks". Just lie not too low.. make some good noise here and there.. and let the buffoon make a mess of the already messy situation.

pappies have not shown they can cope with uncertainties.. ah loong has even admitted it this week that party didn't have 20/20 foresight.. the weakness of pappies is that they love statistics so much that they forgot that in life.. it is full of uncertainties.. and that's where it hurts them when they churn out policies that sound ok to themselves.. but utterly ridiculous to the general public.

If there is a leak and you see flooding, you don't go and announce the building of more pipelines... you should address the problem and fix the leakage.. then wait to see if the leakage comes back.. if not.. then plan next step carefully.

The current step the pappies have made, in letting loose it's "ambition" to have 6.9million population... and then indicate that they need more than 15,000 new citizens each year till 2030.. is like a very desperate grab for "lost votes" to me. it's as if they think people won't see throught their intention, and they have to put forth the idea that lower population growth will put Singapore into utter disaster.

My take is.. look at Japan... yes they are not having any economic growth for many years.. but they have found ways to survive.. why can't WE think of other ways to alleviate the situation. Is pumping in more people from other places really going to fix EVERYTHING!?

Well.. we had a PRC paddler.. who became a citizen.. almost got hitched with a Indon shuttler who also became citizen.. but she has left for her homeland now. Chinese saying goes, "people's roots are the strongest links".

Can we really believe what pappies are saying ON PAPER.. that if and when SG hits 6.9 million people, we WILL have better living and have JOBS?!!

LTK is smart.. I feel he doesn;t want the heat to be on Him, Slyvia or his party... so he tells all that WP is going to co-exist with PAP, and assist and voice out when necessary. Can a mountain contain 2 tigers?

I believe he is letting pappies make ALL the mistakes, and suffer and take all the burnt of the flak from the SG people.. and I say, that is the smart thing to do. Don't do too much, and you won't make too many mistakes for people to see. Let your opponent make all the moves, and hence allow them to make more mistakes.
