the Cantonese leaders must take a large share of the blame for China's fall to Communism back then. if the Gui-Yue faction led by Li Zongren, Bai Chongxi and Zhang Fakui didn't force Chiang Kai Shek to resign from the presidency, the Nationalist Armies wouldn't have collapsed and lost to the Communists so easily. if Chiang stayed as President, maybe half of China would be saved from Communism. in the end, you reap what you sow.
