It is not simply the stated staff salaries:
What about body-guards and other supporting staff, including police escorts?
Free 1st class air-travel, accomdations and supporting escorts, doctors etc?
Offices and facilities at the Istana?
Have they really retired? Are they now ordinary MPs?
Why do the PM need so many supporting Ministers and "advisors"?

In Singapore's case, the budget should be debated in Parliament and approve before the PM can act on it. This statement from PMO shows the disregard for proper procedures and the high-handedness of the MIW. There is no word from anyone, the Prataman or Opposition, which indicates tacit acceptance.

If they have retired and are doing this on a freelance basis without instructions, what the f**k is going on? Who is running the country and who is the real leader? Why not be transparent and tell it as it is, and not confuse the public. We have rules and regulations to be followed strictly as it is the public's money they are using. If the PM wishes not to follow proper procedures, then what is the purpose of the whole country's rules and regulations?

Even their huge salaries are actually nothing when compared against the huge damages and plundering they had done. They can buy another Shin Corp from Thug-Sin, build another CB Barrage to flood the rest of SG, burn another few dozen billions in another SuZhou; buy another bankrupt bank in Wall Street, feed our remaining CPF to another Madoff / Layman brother in USA..... countless.

So what is the tiny amount of cost of Istana staffs and guards? What is their huge salaries when compared against these?
