Why no show down on 2 best candidate?

We should allow 2 best candidate to be contested again to get mandate more than 50%.
If not what ever President do is only approved by 35%.
Will TT dare to contest in show off?

Then Singapore should have Instant Runoff Voting. Like ranking the candidate 1~4 .

Agree that runoff voting is good as it ensures the winner has the majority of the votes -or the support of the majority of the population.

A President who wins only 35% of the votes means "close to two thirds rebuffed him" (ST Aug 28,2011 front page)
He lacks moral authority and can only claim to be a minority president.When he addresses the people eg at NDP, 2/3 of those standing before him
does not want or recognise him as their Head of State.

Can you have a company Chairman who wins only 35% of the votes from shareholders ?-so much for Singapore Inc.

Which candidate able to get the endorsement of the other candidate will get his vote. The total which exceed 50% will win.
