Yes I am aware of that incident however I have no idea whether it was called for(for example someone invited him to give that speech or someone asked that question). If not then, Yeah he opened his big mouth when he shouldn't have. However we should take note that the Japanese certainly didn't protest so I am giving him the benefit of a doubt

are you referring to the 1995 incident? that time Asiaweek magazine reveal US approach him to warn his good hakka friend lee tenghui to shut up. he was actually doing something good for the east asia region. the taiwan foreign minister only call us peesai when we did not let chen shui bian plane land here in 2006.
