综合媒体6月24日报道，一架美国EP-3E电子侦察机于23日接近至台湾岛12海里处，并飞入南海海域。报道称该机一度接近台湾屏东地区至春半岛12海里处。不久前美军P-8A海上巡逻机罕见的穿越台湾海峡，而23日这一EP-3E电子侦察机高度接近台湾。
据美国军机动态社交媒体账号《Aircraft Spots》23日报道，这一架EP-3E电子侦察机从冲绳嘉手纳基地飞往南海，中途一度绕过台湾南部海域，仅距离恆春半岛12海里。不久前进入台湾海峡的美国P-8A海上巡逻机，从新加坡起飞，结束在南海的任务后并没直接返回，也没有马上前往冲绳基地，而是飞越台湾海峡上空，并沿着台湾北部飞行，最后才飞抵达冲绳基地。报道指出，美军这种接近台湾飞行的举动，令人关注。
