We are almost 2 weeks into Phase 2 (Heightened Alert). In spite of the sacrifices that many of us have to make, Singaporeans are rising to the occasion to protect each other. It’s been an exceptionally tough time with livelihoods, safety and mental health being challenged. After last year’s circuit breaker, hawkers, F&B folks and many SME owners and gig workers are now being dealt a second blow and struggling to keep afloat. Many parents have to grapple with supporting their kids through home-based learning while working from home. Our frontline workers like food delivery riders and cleaners live in daily fear of contracting Covid-19 in the course of their work.
On the ground, I have spoken to many who have ideas about what lessons can be learnt from the way the crisis has been managed thus far, so as to better prepare us for the uncertainties ahead and any future upticks in this pandemic. At the same time, some recent xenophobic incidents and racist comments are unacceptable.
I will be holding an Instagram Live this Saturday, 8pm to listen to your Covid-related concerns. Whether you are a Serangoon resident or fellow Singaporean, please do share your views and questions, and I will respond to you on air. Please do share this post, especially with those who might want to tune in. Let's have a constructive discussion about policies and practices.

I regret to report that the coffeeshop at 308 #Anchorvale has been designated a cluster, with a total of 7 linked #COVID-19 cases (to date). The Ministry of Health has encouraged all visitors to the coffeeshop between May 13 and 30 to go for a free swabbing to ascertain their health status. The coffeeshop itself has since been closed, and will remain so until June 13.
If the above applies to you, you may head for tests at a Regional Swabbing Centre at: https://www.moh.gov.sg/covid-19/rsc. Alternatively, you may also access a “Swab and Send Home” Public Health Preparedness Clinic closer to you at: https://flu.gowhere.gov.sg/.
In the meantime, please stay safe everyone, and if you believe you may have been exposed, please do consider taking the necessary precautions to prevent the further spread of the virus to others. #TeamSengkang #SengkangGRC
