Well here's the facts. The 1 inch punch has followers cos it works. Different from religion. How can you even compare it to religious followers?

its actually meant to show students that there is no need to pull back ur punch all the way back to hit. its faster to hit directly from where ur hands are, using kinetic linkage, u can increase the power to a reasonable level thus the compromise of power of not pulling back is not a lot. this is what that 1 inch punch was for actually

the pull back is not in that sense what u mean here, anyone will pull back after throwing.

the pull back here is even b4 u throw the first, u pull it even further back.

in wing chun this is avoided, its similar to jab, u dun pull back to do a jab (most of wing chun punch the power are in the range of a jab in boxing, this sch prefer throwing lots of jabs that hits in favour of more powerful punches)

this is where the 1 inch punch comes in to demo to those students the power is damaging enough, get the idea behind this thinking now?

i learn a bit of boxing and wingchun before (more wing chun), if you ask me which one is better, i will say both are just 2 different school of thoughts that works in 2 different ways.

but most boxer will kill most chinese martial artist due to conditioning LOL

There are lots of ppl that want to put down bruce lee and i have no doubt that part of the reason is because he's chinese.

If bruce is simply hype and not talent why did hollywood promote an asian during a time in the 70s when only white men not even black men ONLY white american men could make it big? Even today yes even today try being an asian and try to make make it as a leading star in hollyood and ppl will be laughing at you yes even TODAY.

Next like wat ram has mentioned did u know that bruce lee was so fast that they needed to slow down his movements so that his moves could be seen by the audiences.

Seriously the fact of the matter is bruce being a chinese is what makes ppl don't really believe he was the greatest. Does anybody question pele or michael jordan? Now just change pele or mj to chinese and do you think ppl would question them? 100% they would even chinese themselves. If bruce lee was a keling you would see indians praising not only him but themselves to the skies let's be honest and not take away his contribution. Asian that became a leading man in a racist environment during racist times. Asian that has talents that are still not able to be replicated even today.

My previous boss, a Norwegian has a giant poster of Bruce Lee behind his bedroom door. I asked his wife if she objects to that and she said she was also a great Bruce Lee fan. I hope this will put to rest the thinking that Bruce Lee was a nobody in the west.
