1) the scholars don't like GMS and NSP
2) NSP did not have the network to reach the university
3) many others

They would have invited NSP if they were sure NSP would send someone more intelligent like Sebastian Tan. However, with MS Goh likely to be the spokesman, they didn't want to bring down the quality of the event by 5 notches.
