To buibui Kirsten Han, caning was never an issue, but she being an overly enthusiastic activist simply wants to ride on this opportunity and diss the Singapore government for being too draconian. Buibui Kirsten should know better that laws are laws, and they are set and enacted in place for a good reason. As harsh as judicial corporal punishment may seem, such punishment is meted out duly to those who flout the law, and to a drug offender convicted of 7 different drug offences, he should count himself fortunate that he avoided the death sentence.
At the end of the day, what does buibui Kirsten Han wants, really? A change in government, or a change in the law? Because even if the former does happen, it doesn't necessarily mean that the latter will follow.
