Syed, it appears that you are the one with low IQ. The Philippines has never defeated the USA or Israel in a war. The Philippines fought a war of independence against the USA, but was defeated. The Philippines did defeat Israel 57-47 in basketball during the qualifying round of the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki though.

Therefore, a family name like Fernandez or Martinez indicates historical imposition rather than any Spanish heritage. More than 90% of Filipinos ended up with Spanish surnames, leading many of them to claim that they are descendants of Europeans, even though they were simply assigned by the colonial administrators. In fact, many present day Filipinos identify themselves as having Spanish blood even though only around 3% do have a European ancestor.

Most Filipinos embrace it because they wish to be considered "European". I have heard this so many times from my Filipino colleagues who claim Spanish ancestry owing to their adopted surnames.

Indonesian Chinese were forced to adopt Indonesian surnames to assimilate, but none claimed to be anything else except ethnic Chinese.

S'porean SPGs prefer to retain their husband's Caucasian surname even after a divorce. They think it is cooler to be known as Mrs Smith instead of Ms Lim.

That is really unreasonable. It is like expecting Eurasians in S'pore with surnames like De Souza, Da Silva, Fonseka, Fernandez, Gomes etc. to play like Brazilians or Portuguese.
