Why do genuine football jerseys have poor quality iron-on sponsor's names?

Genuine football jerseys from the established brands like Adidas, Nike, Puma, Umbro etc. don't fade or require ironing. They can typically be worn for up to 20 years without losing their shape or colour. Why then do kit manufacturers use low quality heat pressed decals for the sponsor's name? They usually peel off or disintegrate after about 3 years of washing, thereby ruining the appearance of the jerseys.

I see it’s been a while since anyone posted, but I just wanted to ask—has anyone tried gently ironing the backing of the sponsor logo with a cloth on top to re-stick it? I’ve seen mixed results but curious if anyone here has had success long term. Also wondering if washing inside out and air drying really helps delay the peeling, or is it just hit and miss depending on the batch?

Some soccer jerseys really impress me with how well they hold up—the fabric stays soft, the colors don’t fade, and they keep their shape even after tons of washes. It’s a shame when the sponsor logos on other kits start peeling, because the jersey itself is fine.

I read this hack online, but it did not work for my affected jerseys. I placed a cotton T-shirt between the iron and my football jersey, but the peeling sponsor's name refused to stick back on. I tried fabric glue to stick the peeling decal back, but it only works when the sponsor's name or logo comes loose in 1 piece. It does not work if the decal disintegrates or melts away, which is often the case.

The genuine football jerseys (player or fan version) maintain their colour, shape and soft fabric even after repeated washings (my maid only hand washes my jerseys), but the decals peel, tear or melt away after about 3-4 years, even when worn sparingly.
