i would vote for tjs cos it would be interesting how SDP perform a nondescript function as a figurehead which would then allow every singaporeans to realise how folly SDP can be in their actions, motive and reveal fully their hidden agendas.

Please don't make this country more of a laughing stock than it already is. Vote for TT and get the PE over and done with. You still don't get the point. The most significant extra power of the EP is to veto reserves spending. There's only one reason for reserves spending, that's to give packages to citizens during rainy days.

If packages from reserves come along again, would you want an anti-PAP president to veto it? And if there's indeed an anti-PAP president, would he indeed veto it for his affiliated party's political agenda or approve it to save his own seat? Note that vetoing packages to citizens during rainy days would naturally be very unpopular and losing votes. The president has no power to be involved in the management and investment of reserves.

u sounded like 40% belong to SDP which again was the lowest. the 40% are the discontented lot but the 60% probably thought they didn't hv a better choice or alternative. it doesn't mean that those who voted the pap are really supporting it. if there were a better choice, they would go for them. ALJUNIED GRC has proven that sgporeans are indeed craving for the change int he political landscape.

the ruling paps always think they are right. this has aggravated into a form of arrogance and ignorance of people's real plight which they take it as unimportant.

tjs overestimated SDP. there are 2 things regarding his resignation: 1) he could hv found out the real motive behind SDP's persistent confrontation with the gov 2) there isn't any further benefits since the GE is over.
