And wanted to move up the technology ladder with increase of salaries.
Then electronic transistor was invented change the world and black and white TVz then colour TVs comes in to watch their own white men movies.
Demand for TV actors and actoress changed American moving out of manufacturing to Hollywood movies.
Then followed closely by music technologies where new sounds and tunes rock America.
Then they are not going into manufacturing and are looking for scapegoats to make TVs for cheap so poor angmoh peasants can own one.
Heading to East... where they find Chinese are good in maths and there are BE colonies in SEA to make TVs, fridges at a fraction of a price of what they get their arrogant brothers and sisters wld do with higher cost to make in the West.

I think it's more due to cost concern.
Western companies business model is based on margins and market share. If they are not in the top 2, they sell off the business,
