Woke Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin recently took to Twitter make an inflammatory comment, in which he makes a tasteless comparison between Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and cult leader and mass murderer Jim Jones.
“DeSantis is the new Jim Jones…” simply wrote the actor in a message shared to his 1 million followers on Twitter.

If you are unfamiliar with Jim Jones he was the leader of the Peoples Temple and organized a mass-murder suicide at his commune of Jonestown in Guyana back in 1978.
Not only was Jones a cult leader, but The New York Times reported in 1978 that Jones “was a Communist from the early 1950’s on, according to a rambling, disjointed personal history found among his effects and published by the Governmentowned newspaper here.”
In fact, The New York Times added, “The document implied throughout that Mr. Jones was always a Communist and that he used his religious connections only to further Communist ends and to politicize congregations.”

Alec Baldwin fires prop gun, accidentally kills woman on film set​

A woman has been killed on a US film set after a prop gun Alec Baldwin was holding misfired, according to authorities.

Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed and director Joel Souza was injured by the gunfire.

A statement from the Santa Fe sheriff confirmed Baldwin had fired the prop gun.

The accident happened on the set of independent Western film Rust, which is being produced in New Mexico.

A spokesperson from the production told The Hollywood Reporter the prop gun was supposed to be loaded with blanks.

"Halyna Hutchins, 42, director of photography and Joel Souza, 48, director, were shot when a prop firearm was discharged by Alec Baldwin, 68, producer and actor," the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

"This investigation remains open and active. No charges have been filed in regard to this incident."

Authorities responded about 2pm on Thursday (local time) to the film set. Hutchins was flown to a hospital in Albuquerque where she was pronounced dead.
Souza is reportedly critically injured and is being treated at a hospital in Santa Fe.

The International Cinematographer's Guild said Hutchins' death was "devastating news" and "a terrible loss", according to the BBC.

Earlier in the day, Baldwin posted a photo on Instagram from the set of Rust.

"Back to in person at the office. Blimey, it’s exhausting," he captioned the image.
