If I am not mistaken, he is the co-opted one inside the NMP ranks. There would always be some who are co-opted, waiting to be co-opted. However, once in a while once inside they might go there independent streak. Braema Mathi is one close example.

No doubt about that. What made it worse is he try to sound as if he's giving a very balanced view but often it comes off as even more obvious that he's licking the PAP ass. That's why he never would have thought that the PAP would go against his views regarding the necessity of Hougang by-election. Hri Kumar mocked at all that Eugene had said and as that would create a very negative impact on him as a SMU law professor, he had no choice but to hit back. He would have never imagine that one day he would need to do that against his policital masters, the very people whose balls he had been carrying all these while and earned him a place as NMP. It just show how naive he is and his father as well, as throughout S'pore political history, the PAP or more accurately, LKY has dropped people off like a hat once they say or do something against what he thinks is correct. Even his closest supporter Dr Toh Chin Chye was not spared, so who the hell is Eugene Tan that LKY would grant an exception. It looks set that he would only serve one-term as NMP and in the days ahead, he will get more heat from the PAP, as the Old Fart never forgets and never forgives.

Many PAP polumpar (polisher) never know that the best way to be exonerated from evil is to go against it. If Eugene has a little bit of soul left in him, he will try his best to get out of such vicious cycle his father has planted. Unfortunately Desmond Choon and other minister's son who now sit in parliament are beyond hope. They will forever live the negative life of Singapore traitor until their next generation cleanse it on their own out of these vicious cycle.
