Who is cheap - Scoot or Pax?

as the flight was delayed, asking for a cup of water shouldn't have been difficult - scoot wanted to make it difficult and took budget up another level, not as if it lost the recipe for ice
For Gene Goh, a passenger on Singapore-based Scoot airline, this is exactly what happened while on a flight from Singapore to Osaka on Nov. 16. After the flight was delayed upon takeoff, he asked a flight attendant for a “plain cup of water” but was told only bottled water was available for purchase.
What happened next seems almost too outrageous to be true. I was given a cup of ice and was told to wait for the ice to melt,” he wrote on Facebook.....But not everyone criticized Goh. Anthony De B came to his defense, writing: “I find it funny that everyone here is indoctrinated into thinking that water should not be given free of charge and that this man is being cheap. You have all been brainwashed fools.”

When you board a LCC or ULCC, one should not expect to get anything for free, even if the plane is delayed. You could sue them afterwards if that delay caused you suffering but prepare to fork out for everything. If the airline knows anything about customer relations, then it would be proactive in placating pax by offering some freebies, like drinks and snacks.

Why dun the pax just go and drink from the toilet basin ?

One is cheap in trying to save costs rather than travelling in a regular full service airline. The other is cheap because it wants to cut costs and no thrills so as to be profitable.
Verdict: Both are cheapskates and deserve each other. I have long given up on Tiger Air Asia Scoot etc because of the many delays. Can really ruin your holiday mood. It's not that I am rich or howlian but I would rather save up and then travel in some style and comfort.

Milando Air and Firefly pretty good, even though the are LCC. They still provide free drinks and snacks on short flights and meals for longer flights.

i think both are Silkair equivalents. Cheaper than SIA but more expensive than Scoot.
