women tend to focus on details; that's why they remember a lot more and are more meticulous. men tend to be more big-picture people so tend not to remember so many small things. i think the tendency to focus on details also makes women prone to micro-managing.

Actually between me and my wife, she regularly forgots almost everything while i remember the birthdays and anniversaries etc. It keeps the marriage happy i guess and i treasure her more.
