[FONT=&amp]Redefining the term "happy meal", fast food fanatics in China now just need to flash their smiles to earn their dinner.
Alibaba's Ant Financial has teamed up with KFC in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou to debut its news "smile to pay" service.

The service allows customers to process their payment simply by smiling after placing their order at one of the fast food restaurant's self-serve screens.

A 3-D camera then scans the customer's face to verify their identity. An additional phone number verification option is available for added security.

The technology is available to customers registered to the Alipay app – the mobile and online payment platform established in Hangzhou by Alibaba's founder Jack Ma.

KFC was targeted for the debut as it is a subsidiary of Yum China, one of Alibaba's major investments.

The launch sits in line with Yum China's plans to attract a younger generation of customers.

Joey Wat, Yum China's president, said the store was aimed at "young, tech savvy consumers who are keen to embrace new tastes and innovations," according to Reuters.

whether this payment method takes off or not is not the issue.

The more important fact is the technology adoption rate in China today. The Chinese are finding more ways to be creative and make technology work for them.

Pap better wake up and stop boasting that Little red dot is the still center of the Earth.

And the 70% better wake up and think when did we get over taken...

This is a bad move as a 3rd party has control over your biometric signature. Once someone has possession of your biometrics and uses it illegally for fraud etc, you cannot change it like a compromised password .

The proper way is the biometric is in possession of the owner. Apply Pay where you finger is used for biometric authentication, resides in the phone that you own and possess, Apple has no access to it.

when some dogsbody doesn't know what the shit she's talking about, it's better for this bitch to shut her pie hole. it's not only fake news but pure bs as apple stores your fingerprint data in the form of binary code called "mathematical fingerprint" on the icloud in order for you to re-image your iphone and transfer your touch id access to your ipad in case of any of those devices being stolen, lost, destroyed or damaged. the photo image of your fingerprint is not stored on icloud but a unique representation of it in digital format is. apple can reconstruct your fingerprint image with the "mathematical fingerprint" data if they choose to as they have the algorithms. to outside hackers who managed to retrieve this mathematical fingerprint data, it is useless as it's just garbage without the keys to the algorithms to decode it. beware of tua pau xian suaning you with false info. has been doing that since day six point nine.

Idiot solution to use facial recognition. If wear glasses, need to remove them first.

The best way is to use fingerprint. At most need to remove gloves, but come on la, which clown wears that in SG? Maybe a pallbearer.

Its a terrible solution when you register and hand over your personal biological signature to buy fried chicken. Shows you the herd instinct.

Who confirmed to you that Apple has no access to your fingerprint?

Have you thoroughly examined and studied Apple's source code for iOS for backdoors and security vulnerabilities?

when you scan your fingers on the home button, apple has software to translate your fingerprints to a digital format. a local copy is stored on your iphone while another copy is uploaded into icloud. when you sync a new device such as an ipad pro to the iphone with the same icloud account, your touch id including digital fingerprint (apple calls it mathematical fingerprint as they add their secret math sauce to make each uniquely digitized with a string of codes - it's not a photo image as there's a lot of calculations) will automatically allow you to access your secondary devices sync'ed to your iphone (where you initially register your prints) via icloud backup of your prints. they filed this patent back in 2015. ios versions from 2015 onwards will have this feature. your devices need to have touch id capability too on the home button.
