Where's MRT security? Woman brings supermart trolley right inside train

MRT commuters were stunned to see this woman with a supermarket trolley onboard. STOMPers who saw the woman are now wondering how she managed to get past SMRT staff at the gantry.

She did not care that the large trolley was inconveniencing others onboard.

STOMPer Malou says the woman even shouted and scolded fellow commuters and screamed when an SMRT staff told her to alight from the train.

Malou says:

"This woman has a pushcart inside the MRT and she didn't mind that she was hitting people with it.

"She started screaming when scolded about it and called other passengers stupid, even telling some of them to 'go back to your own country'.

"When MRT staff asked her to alight, she started to scream again".

Another STOMPer, Mrs Chua, says:

"I saw this auntie with an NTUC trolley in the MRT.

"Is she doing shopping in the train?

"How did she manage to push the trolley into the train without any SMRT staff seeing her?".

Extra wide gate need SMRT to open. Not Auto if I not wrong. Seldom ride on MRT.

This is an embarrassing question to be answered by SMRT, especially after the security breach.

An SMRT staff in control room must be the one to activate the wiider gate meant for wheelchair/pram to get into the station la.

What if the woman is pushing a trolley loaded with explosive ? Too much and to heavy to carry la.

I am sure the SMRT staff were caught off guard or that they did not saw it coming right in front of the control room !

CCTV ? Oh really working or are they same like some HDB residents used those decoys to frighten loan-shark runners ?

The Station Security work from certain hours, I am sure that is also outsource...for I recongnise one Station Security who is slighly loose on the head...know that person from the past.. I was aghast!..how could they employ that person...no wonder that auntie can get the trolley in...

What's the taichi lesson now?...they wer caught off guard?, their outsource contractor used outdated SOP...etc..

When no one pushed a trolley into an MRT carriage it is suspicious. MRT staff should be able to call the police and have this investigated. At least, that is the tone of the message. It is a clearly a breach of security if someone could push a shopping cart into the train without any of the staff stopping it before it boarded the train.

Don't disturb the SMRT Auntie, she is very busy making use of every nook & cranny to make money from rental...where got time to bother about security or suspicious people?, you are suppose to call her, remember, what she had said, in case you forget...your responsiblity!!..hers is to make money & collect from you...

There is no way to push the supermarket's trolley through the paying gate without the control room staff activating the wider gate meant for wheelchair/pram.

Hence the woman is not 'illegal' in that sense, but the SMRT staff probably think that was an over-sized pram and let it through.

Or that woman scolded the staff stupid, and not wanting to be stupid, they opened the wider gate for her?

So now is a case between the supermarket and SMRT ?
