Absolutely. Google's forage into the browser domain is a direct attack on Microsoft. Besides, Google had recently extended the collaborative pact with Firefox till 2011, so Mac and Linux users can still use Firefox.

M$ came out a totally new browser that allow users to switch off google ads, and google came out their own browser and phone OS to fight M$. Meanwhile Nokia totally bought Symbian OS and make it open source to resist google Anroid OS and started placing emphasis on web applications that also worked with mobile... very interesting, seeing these companies "fight out" to gain market share...
BTW, Nokia users can upload photos and sync calendar, notes and contacts on www.ovi.com. No more worries about losing contacts...
