When I lost my job, government had e2i, workfare and Skillsfuture grant to help me get retrained and re-employed

My employer also benefited from the government's CSP, PIC grants as well as Spring support for SME and IE Singapore to market overseas

To help me stay healthy, government gives me activesg

I know that when I am down, I can count on the government to give me a hand to lift me up.

Just a hand to lift me up and not a handout so that I become lazy

So of course I have experienced this before.

The government is far from perfect - trains don't run, HDB facades fall apart, long queues in hospitals, but it is still SOLID.

I am grateful to the PAP for its steady hand in this world of turmoil.
