An assessment by credit rating agencies shows the Malaysian Ringgit has strengthened to RM4.16 against the US dollar, making it Asia’s best-performing currency.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said S&P Global Ratings and Moody’s have kept the country’s credit ratings at A- and A3, signalling a stable and strong outlook.

“They haven’t said a word now that the Ringgit is rising”
Sinar Harian reported that previously, Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, slammed the opposition for their past attacks on the government over the ringgit.
Anwar, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tambun, pointed out that the opposition had claimed the Ringgit was falling, but now that it’s strengthening, they’re keeping quiet.

During the Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQT) session in the Dewan Rakyat, Sri Gadin MP Aminolhuda Hassan asked about the effectiveness of the Madani Economic Policy after 18 to 24 months of implementation.
In response, Anwar highlighted that unemployment in August 2025 hit its lowest level in 10 years.
