What The ''GREAT'' Nelson Mandela Did For South African Blacks......

Comparing what our great leader Mr Lee Kuan Yew has done for the third world Singaporeans liberating them from the slums and attap houses and transforming them from a jamban house to a modern apartment, Mandela pales and fades away.....

How many Blacks have been liberated and freed from poverty, slums and ghettoes....from ghetto to a bigger and more ghettoes...

well that is considered good enough which took 27 years of his life to complete this cycle.

Since that you mentioned suppress at least none of their tribal people went to jail under ISA for 32 years after SA become free. Under LKY the fear of him and suppression is real from his intimidations and threats after Singapore was free from the Whites.

Friend, this is worser than SA even though you can walk free on street but you are not really free. 5 people get together can be charged for unlawful gathering says so much of Singapore freedom under Lee.

Mandela never freed the blacks. All he did was take the key to the cell from the whites and handed it over to the blacks who now suppress their own along tribal lines replacing skin color.

The only change for the slum dwelling population is that their slums have got bigger.

Women are even worse off as male politicians impose tribal values on the populations they govern.

When PAP is overthrown and WP rules Sinkapore, we will be enjoying the same statistics.

In 1990, 2 weeks before freed from prison, Nelson Mandela said:

"The nationalization of the mines, banks and monopoly industries is the policy of the African National Congress."

"The people shall govern! All national groups shall have equal rights!"

"The people shall share in the country's wealth!"

"The land shall be shared among those who work it!"

"All shall be equal before the law!"

"All shall enjoy equal human rights!"

"There shall be work and security!"

"There shall be houses, security and comfort!"

Mandela could have followed what Hugo Chavez successfully instituted in Venezuela but instead...........

The vast majority of black society is worse off than under apartheid.

People living on less than $1 a day doubled.

80% of South African children suffered poor health, 25% under age 6 were ill nourished.

More South Africans died from malnutrition and preventable diseases than under apartheid.

25% of South Africa's budget goes for interest on national debt.

1 death and 12 serious injuries for each ton of gold mined. 1/3 of workers contract deadly lung disease and left on their own to suffer and die.

Unemployment soared to 48% though official figures are 26%

Youth unemployment exceeds 50%. About 80% of unemployed young people never had jobs longer than a year.

2 million South Africans lost their homes. Another 1 million lost their farms. Shack dwelling increased 50%.

25% of South Africans have no running water or electricity. Around 40% of schools have no electricity.

About 50% of South Africans have inadequate sanitation. Around 40% have no telephones.

Post-apartheid, life expectancy declined by 13 years, below that of Afghanistan.

A scheme where sinkees enslaves themselves for the rest of their miserable lives. And very soon, they will have to enslave the lives of their children and generations to come.

South Africans are still living in slums more than 20 years after the end of Apartheid. Singaporeans now live in the lap of luxury.

Leongsam should say something good for Hitler as he did even greater things and go the trains to run on time.
Smear of shit on sole of shoe LKY and Mandela pipsqueak compared to Hitler.

If Hitler had exterminated only the gypsies and the blacks and left the jews alone, I would have nominated him as man of the century. I have great admiration for the Jews. Without them, the world would be a much poorer place.

http://www.deathcamps.info/FAQ.htm

Why did Hitler hate the Jews?

Holocaust happened because Hitler and the Nazis were racist. They believed the German people were a 'master race', who were superior to others. They even created a league table of 'races' with the Aryans at the top and with Jews, Gypsies and black people at the bottom. These 'inferior' people were seen as a threat to the purity and strength of the German nation. When the Nazis came to power they persecuted these people, took away their human rights and eventually decided that they should be exterminated.

We are not there and did not experience or felt the emotions of those who did. For those who wish to read more…..

“We would not have been able to live together if it was not for Mandela,” she said, her voice choking with emotion. “It would not have been allowed. So we have a lot to be grateful for.”

Personally, I do not bother much about what politicians did or did not do. Mostly, they take credit for what they're able to receive accolades for. I just take care of what I can to the best I can and try to smile along the way. Am just happy to live in a time of peace and order.

Peace.

the boy looks happy, at least.

Hunger is never happy. Poverty is never happy. Underprivileged, marginalised and economic enslavement are never happy.

These are Happy Singaporeans - the lucky ones!!! All due to a wonderful, honest, truthful ,compassionate and committed Government.

South Africa is a proper country many times the size of Peesai
Much like governing Malaysia and Indonesia is more complicated
Singapore is a small city and Old Fart is nothing but a petty mayor

End to apartheid was a negotiated settlement
It's not as if blacks had defeated whites militarily
And could impose whatever terms they wished
If ANC had said let's nationalise everything
The whites will say then let's fight till the end

Whites didn't want a Bosnia so they negotiated
Blacks didn't want a bloodbath and compromised
Effects of century and more of apartheid is not going away
Miraculously but by long and painful transformation

At least they are having genuine National Conversations
Drawing on the collective wisdom of the People
And not on the ego of one Old Fart and his flawed FamiLEE

.................

This is the sort of Goondu statements that need to be rebutted, by constant reposting if necessary of old posts such as this:

Thanks for sharing your experience. Fortunately, I did not have to live under such conditions except during army training in Taiwan. The bucket toilet was so smelly that rather than use it, I went to the bushes to do it. Better to have a few mosquito bites on my bum than to tolerate that foul smell.

However, I disagree that all these achievements can be attributed to one man. We would have done it in the global trend of modernisation with or without him.

From Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_housing_in_Singapore):

"The first public housing built were in SIT Estates, usually located just outside the fringe of Downtown Singapore, such as Tiong Bahru in the Bukit Merah area. SIT estates also appeared in Queenstown such as the Princess Margaret Estate where construction began in July 1952. In SIT's early plans for the Estate, the new town planning concept was evident with their plans to build housing estates around a commercial centre.

When the HDB took over in 1960, they fully adopted the new town planning concept on a large scale, building entire towns from scratch in locations all around Singapore. Queenstown thus became the HDB's model of its version of a New Town, and they developed this further in Toa Payoh which was the first town to be built entirely from the ground up by the HDB. ...."

So, public housing for the masses was something that was started by the British colonial administration. Even the new town concept originated with them. The civil servants that did it for the SIT Estates under the British were probably just transferred to the HDB which continued the good work that the British had started. The British couldn't finish what they had started because the colonised wanted independence. Would the PAP have been able to continue the public housing program if the British colonial administration did not leave them large financial reserves with which to do it, similar to what the British did when they left Hong Kong? Would our industrialisation have been so rapid if the retreating British military forces did not leave behind facilities which were the best in the region and could be easily converted to civilian use?

In Hong Kong, the British had more time to finish their good work. Here, public housing started in 1953, about the same time as Singapore and continued right through to 1997. Sure the Hongkies themselves took over and continued with the program after 1997, but did Tung Chee Hwa or any of the other Chief Executives try to claim credit for what the British had started?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_housing_in_Hong_Kong

Those same civil servants who did the SIT estates would have done what they are trained by the British to do, regardless of whether the government of the day was lead by the PAP or the BS.

Can't say anything about the triads, except that any government responsible to its electorate would have done it regardless of whether the majority party is PAP or BS. Besides, LKY alone can't do it, he needs a police force. If we need to thank anybody for the elimination of the triads, it is the police force of the mid to late 60s and its chiefs.

he give you that but he takes the Istana and never give up till he die.

he gathered with a big group round your estates and is not considered unlawful but if you did is unlawful. What is missing in the picture? freedom.
