Just thought of sharing something i learnt about the complications of Halal. From my limited understanding, Halal governing bodies in each country does not agree with each other and i believe that there are differing standards for each body. For example, Singapore Halal is not recognised by Malaysian Halal. China Halal is recognised by Malaysian Halal body, and not Singapore, while Malaysia Halal not recognised by Indonesian Halal, but Singapore recognises it...

Maybe someone with better knowledge can comment on this.

That is true. They have many schools each defining their own guidelines on which animal species are halal. And the line is generally drawn at the species level. Either crabs are halal or they are not. Either shellfish are halal or they are not.

It is laughable to claim that flower crabs are halal while m&d crabs aren't.

With due respect to our Muslim bros, let's not judge them whether they consume halal or practice according to what was prescribed by their faith. We should not judge anyone. Let them live according to their own circumstances and individual aspirations.
