What is this "White Group"?

The whole week I have been seeing full page advertorials by the "White Group" talking about their ventures in Gansu province (which is one of the poorest in China) and extolling the virtues of Mr 乌鸦 Peh. Obviously Peh is so talented that he won poem writing contests, came up with extremely profitable business models and is the architect of the entire White Group venture in Gansu.

WHY IS SUCH A TALENT NOT OUR PRIME MINISTER OR THE NEW CHAIRMAN OF TEMASEK HOLDINGS?
