It doesnt take an idiot to see the current opposition is in a state of disarray and judging from their past track record or lack of, very unlikely to make further inroads in the near future. Looking at Thailand and Malaysia, Anwar after being annointed the unofficial opposition leader finally managed to crack the 2/3 majority of BN and proved to be a real threat now, likewise for Thaksin's sis and her 11 coalition partners securing victory over the formidable Abhisit camp, backed by the bureacrats, military and royal. In a nutshell, anything less is a waste of time and we will still be whining and ranting after 2016, 2021....

Definition of a gerry mandered and dud democracy

elections results - 60-40%
parliament seats - 87-6 (93% v 7%)
40% represented by 7% ?

So who head the coalition party? LTK? He already 雄霸一方, why he would want other opp parties to share his achievements?

A coalition cant work if everyone wants to be the Indian Chief, therefore there must be a headman, an asst headman, the fighter and the lowest rank ginna, similar structure to a secret society :D

i like to see the WP/NSP/SDP/whatever coalition government, SG politics will become more exciting than Taiwan politics. :D

Why Sinkieland got no Chinese or Indian centred parties like MCA or MIC....I dun think its due to population size since got PKMS already.

Maybe soon we got Pinoy party or tiong party....then politics will really get interesting

Ya then the fucking papayas will be shooting their own brains out , every ethnic group clamouring for representation, the country will be fragmented into pieces, it will be a nitemare come true for them :D

By hook or by crook all oppositions must fall in as one party.

Because come 2016, many GRCs will fall.

Dun be too sure.
Pappies will merge GRCs to become mega GRCs of at least 10 MPs.
Daft sinkies won't have the balls to vote against them for fear of losing 'heavyweight' ministars

Given the type of society that we live in where "face" is so important, no one likes to play second fiddle. Too many egos and too many Indian chiefs wannabes. At the slightest hint of controversy, the coalition will collapse. So there's really no incentive or impetus to form a coalition. Can't elaborate more as it is too time-consuming a task to go into details.
