You never know what real world applications fundamental research can bring.
Even if the theory itself remains too esoteric for the common folk to understand for generations, there can also be spin offs in the form of technological know-how that developed alongside the endeavour.
Never write off scientific pursuit as useless. History is littered with examples of research that began as the pet of some electric group of nerds but which later evolved into something that benefitted the entire human race.

Higgs Boson is scientific Buddhism.

This is my understanding of it. Sorry if it is wrong as my Physics only up to JC level.
The Higgs Boson is the particle that gives mass to the fundamental particles by interacting with them and converting them into particles with mass like protons and neutrons. Some particles like light photons do not interact with it and hence, are massless. It breaks down very quickly after the interaction so it was hard to discover.
I think it provides another link as to how atoms are created. Without the Higgs Boson, there would not be any atoms, the basic building blocks of any matter, since everything will be massless. Think of it as something like the discovery of the atom making up everything. This just goes a level below and identifies how anything with mass gets created. Don't ask me how this discovery relates to creating humans.
It does not provide the answer as to why the Universe was created and by who.
I am not an expert, but i believe the string theory is meant to answer that.

Nice poetic license in trying to equate Buddha and all.
BUT , Higgs boson was not originally called the God particle. Higgs boson was originally called the Goddamn particle by Leon Lederman.
But publishers refused to print that and so it was changed to the God particle.
