Hiya everybody would like to hear from you how you feel if your director tells your managers that :

1. Next year all maint. workers performance bonus will be based solely on workers MC rate and nothingelse. Eg. more than 3 days can forget about your promotion more than 10 days can forget about getting good most get satisfactory.

2. If you want to carry more than 5 days of your annual leave over to the next following year must write personally to the CEO or the president. Mind you this company has over 3k+ of workers.

3. The HR dept. sends down a rep to tell the workers that they are damn happy to have a job and its normal for the company to call the workers to work on weekends and public holidays and have their off days replaced during weekdays without any compensation. If not happy the door is always open.

Its the typical Singapore style management. They just don't know how to motivate. Instead threats, coercion, arm twisting are employed as legitimate management tools.

To them, there is only one tool in the management's toolbox, and that is the hammer. They are blind or too stupid to see that there are other tools too.

In Singapore the workers work hard. Its the management's skills that are lacking and pulling the whole country down.

It appears that the company may have the intention of removing some existing workers or replacing them with cheaper alternatives, and squeezing more out of the remaining workers. They may be hoping that these actions will cause some to leave voluntarily.

And don't worry about the CEO having to read 3K+ letters regarding leave. They will be automatically forwarded to someone in HR. The instructions to address the letters to the CEO are merely to dissuade people from carrying forward leave and/or to piss the workers off.

if everybody carry forward leave very difficult for HR to plan

employees and employers must co-operate for mutual benefit subject to free market principles

if employer kuai lan, employee free to leave to find another job

if employee kuai lan, employer can give one month notice

all is fair

if employee attitude is crap, i highly suggest use PRC staff, always work hard

Yup it's a free world. You can leave whenever you like. People who own companies have the right to dictate the terms of employment.

If you're not happy, start your own company and you can do whatever you want and pay yourself as much as you can afford.
