what happened to EU's anti trust suit against Microsoft?

EU was trying to force M$ to remove IE from Windows. Why was the suit discontinued? Anyone knows?

Windows is IE and IE is Windows since Windows 98/IE 5. Don't believe me? Try entering a valid http:// address in your normal Windows address bar or try entering a valid c:\ hard-disk search from your IE address bar.
