What happened here?

Jane looks like one of my favourite Korean Milf actress Choi Yeo Jin

Murdered by CECA or upended by the death shots?

Word of advice: if you want to be a 'whistleblower'... stay far away from Facebook or other platforms owned by Meta.

Market Whisper: Foreign-born legal practising in Singapore are plotting with foreign workers on faking injuries and suing employers.

Never trust a Ceca, or anyone else for that matter. You can only hire chinese. They are hard workers. CECAS are lazy and good for nothing talkers

At least tiongs better than them, they won’t go and cheat until this way. Tiongs do scam calls or work as pimps mark up prices. Ceca hire them as construction worker then is okay.

MOM looking into alleged fraudulent work injury claim against Sumo Salad; police investigating owner's death

The salad eatery's owner, Ms Jane Lee, died after making two Facebook posts about an employee who allegedly faked a workplace injury to seek compensation from the company.

I thought they were 2 separate matter.
If Mom stepped in to investigate, means they were leelated KNN but if someone can stress until death, then why would this person setup a business in the first place?
So don't tell me is a case of murder?

Hearsay she committed suicide :notworthy:

Today there is a sad news, Ms Jane Lee had apparently taken her own life when she could not take the pressure of legal challenges arising from an ex staff claiming her company for injury sustained during the employment.

I think the main problem of that in Singapore is that people who face legal challenges are often facing it alone and there is no emotional support network.

I also need to grow as a person and not consumed by anger and rage. My wife is my teacher in that respect. I feel that we need an emotional support network for people who are sued without lawyer and for those who are forced to sue also without lawyer.

I think the legal non profit support network is often insufficient and they focus more on law and not on emotional support. I think there is a huge gap there.

What do you think? Lawsuits are becoming more common and do you think there is a need of a non-government network providing that emotional support. Going to ask Iris Koh to lead this, she is a stronger person than I am.

Question: Is this a case of suicide? If so, it is a terrible waste of her own life.

Let me offer my humble expertise. This case easily claim under WICA (Work Injury Compensation Act ) or Common Law
Foreign employee usually on WP can only choose either one of the above mentioned

WICA:
1) Claim for medical expenses, loss of income, hospitalisation etc. (Easy peasy)
2) Claim under temporary incapacitation
3) Claim under permanent incapacitation (usually a lump sum and case closed)

Common Law:
1) Get a lawyer and fight it out at civil court (not so common)

Commentary (Speculations)
It's quite obvious that she CANNOT afford insurance coverage OR did not renew the insurance coverage in time. (I don't know, just speculating. Since, I don't have access to her accounts). Last possibility is she did not set a lump sum for the unforeseen. I would recommend least 20K.

Getting unsecured loan from licensed moneylenders might be able to tide her through till the FT's medical expenses till they have been reimbursed (if FT decided to claim WICA)

Another speculation it seems that this FT probably tried to claim under common law. This might be the reason why she suicided.

Conclusion
1) No money, don't start a business
2) Always renew / pay your insurance premiums on time

3a) Don't hire those Indians with education. Kaur seems to be those Northern Indians with some education.
3b) Indians with some education = Snakes, regardless north or south
3c) 2 points above are reality, not speculation. I had 2 encounters and it's more than enough. That's why majority of the lawyers in SG are Indians. (But they use this for a constructive use)

4) all my above points stand true for MOST of them. And I have no remorse nor feel apologetic. Stereotyping exists for a reason.
